Living With Acne-Practical Suggestions
Posted by Tweeting RevolutionPhysical appearance is very important for everyone and anything that makes you feel self conscious can be problematic. Acne problems are something that can affect anyone during puberty and even into their 20s and 30s. People with acne feel very self conscious and aware of their condition and this can make day-to-day life uncomfortable. If you are living with acne here are some tips that can help you.
One person you should speak to is your doctor who could give you medication to help with your condition. Many people find that taking medication can make all the difference to their acne. If you are female and use the contraceptive pill this could cause your acne to be more severe. Your doctor may advise you to switch pills and see if this makes a difference, so try it out.
You also need to make sure that you are not aggravating your acne. In other words do not pop any pimples or try to get rid of any scabs yourself. You may want to do this but your acne will become even worse and you could have permanent scars on your face.
If you wear make-up each day you need to remove it thoroughly every single night. Too many women try to cover up acne with thick and heavy make-up. Do this and you will be adding to your problems as your skin will not be able to breathe properly. Use a make-up removal product that is suitable for sensitive skin and you will minimize the risk of irritation.
To open your pores and allow your skin to breathe you might want to use a compress. This should be warm to the touch and not feel as though it is burning when you apply it to your skin. Do not use the compress for too long as this can cause your skin to become irritated. If at any point you become uncomfortable you should remove the compress and allow your skin to cool down.
Living with face or back acne can be really difficult at times. But as long as you know some of the ways to cope with the condition it can be made easier. While there is no guaranteed cures for this condition there are things that you can do to minimize it.
Treat your skin well and you will find that your acne starts to reduce a little and living with acne will become easier. Follow your doctor’s advice and take any medication that is prescribed to you and you may soon see a difference.
